The Sovereign Art Charity Students Prize Singapore

Now entering its fourth year, the Sovereign Art Charity Students Prize Singapore seeks to inspire and reward young artists in the community. The prize aims to encourage cultural development and celebrate the importance of art in the education system by recognising the quality of artwork that can be produced by talented, young students.

Entrants must be enrolled at secondary school in Singapore and be nominated by their teacher. All artworks submitted will be viewed online by a panel of local experts, who will then shortlist up to 20 finalists.

This year’s panel comprises: Daryl Goh, award-winning tech artist and lecturer at the School of Interactive & Digital Media, Nanyang Polytechnic; Milenko Prvački, Senior Fellow at LASALLE College of the Arts; Ye Shufang, Deputy Director of Education at the National Gallery Singapore; and barrister Howard Bilton, Chairman and founder of The Sovereign Group.

The Finalists’ works will then be exhibited and the judges will attend for a second round of voting in person to select their winners. In parallel, the public will be invited to vote for their favourite piece – either online or at the exhibition. Prizes will be awarded to both the winning artists and their schools.

The finalists artworks will also be entered into a silent auction (with permission from the artist) and the proceeds from sale will be split evenly between the Sovereign Art Foundation, to support its charitable activities, and the artists themselves.
