SAF welcomes ‘Strides for Good’ charity marathon mission – a true test of human endurance

The Sovereign Art Foundation (SAF) is delighted to announce the remarkable new ‘Strides for Good’ world marathon challenge, which is undertaking to complete seven marathons across seven continents in seven consecutive days to raise funds for SAF’s charitable programmes for disadvantaged children.

The ‘Strides for Good’ mission is the brainchild of two extraordinary campaigners James Elliott-Square (Regional Business Development Manager, Sovereign Saudi Arabia) and Paris Norriss (TV presenter, motivational speaker, adventurer and conservationist), who were seeking an opportunity for adventure combining personal growth and philanthropy.

From 28 January to 6 February next year, James and Paris will attempt to cover 295km in just one week, from the frozen tundra of Novo, Antarctica, to the bustling city of Miami in the US – a true test of human endurance.

From Antarctica, their itinerary takes them to the heat of Cape Town (Africa) for their second marathon, then on to Perth on the west coast of Australia, to the sunny shores of Dubai for the Asian leg, the streets of the Spanish capital of Madrid (Europe), to Fortaleza in north-eastern Brazil (South America) on the penultimate day, before finally reaching their seventh continent in seven days and completing their seventh and final marathon in Miami (North America).

Over the coming months, James and Paris will undergo an intensive training programme, collaborating with experts in nutrition and sports science to ensure that their bodies are equipped to handle the physical demands and the challenging climate conditions they will face, not to mention the rigours of travel and the havoc of time zones.
