Our Gibraltar team were thrilled to host the second Sovereign Golf Day in June at the La Hacienda Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort, with its stunning views of the Rock and coastline it really is a fabulous course to play on. We were so pleased that over 60 clients and contacts were able to attend and we so appreciate their taking time out of their busy schedules to join us, either for a full day’s play or for lunch.

Luckily for us, the poniente wind which had been high that week, stayed at bay that day leaving a perfect weather for golf with blue skies and sunshine; it was certainly warm on the course.

After breakfast on the terrace of the Resort’s Sal Verde Restaurante and a group photo, players hopped into their buggies for the shotgun start. The format was ‘Texas Scramble,’ requiring each four-person team member to contribute at least three tee shots during the round.

Our non-playing staff kept the players refreshed by delivering cold drinks and snacks throughout the day. Players had fun recording their scores on the Golf Course’s new online league table so that they could see who was leading as the day progressed.

As the round concluded in the early afternoon, everyone gathered back at Sal Verde Bar for drinks and lunch on the terrace, washed down by our Chairman Howard Bilton’s delicious wine from his Howard’s Folly winery in Estremoz.

We congratulate all participants for their performance, particularly the following individuals and teams who were awarded with prizes by Darren Whitley, Sovereign Pensions MD:
