UK Tax Planning Webinar: Post-Budget Impact Assessment
The Directors of Sovereign invite you to attend a UK Tax Planning Webinar: Post-Budget Impact Assessment
When: Thursday 21st November
Time: 9am UK time
The UK Autumn Budget will be delivered by Chancellor Rachel Reeves on 30 October, the first Budget from a Labour government since 2010. While the government has pledged not to increase taxes “on working people” and to leave corporation tax unchanged, we expect the Budget to address manifesto commitments on non-domiciled status, offshore trusts, carried interest and stamp duty. There has also been widespread speculation about potential reforms to capital gains tax (CGT), inheritance tax and pensions.
The Webinar will be divided into three parts:
Part 1: Overview of key tax changes following the publication of the detailed proposals expected on or around Budget Day.
These will include:
- Abolition of remittance basis of taxation
- Replacement with new foreign income and gains (FIG) regime
- Overhaul of Inheritance Tax (IHT)
We will also flag any measures that were effective from Budget Day and other key changes in the pipeline.
Part 2: Impact Assessment on Existing Structures
- Excluded Property Trust (EPT)
- Qualifying Non-UK Pension Scheme (QNUPS)
- Family Investment Company (FIC)
Part 3: Potential Planning and Restructuring
- How to re-structure those structures impacted by the Budget.
- Most tax efficient new structuring
- Becoming non-UK resident: where to go next?
