Your invitation to “Why is Portuguese residency so appealing to South Africans?” In person Seminar

In Events

Following the success of our Live Webinar last November, Sovereign Trust (SA) invites you to join an in-person Q&A session featuring Sovereign Group chairman Howard Bilton, who is visiting Cape Town this month.

Sovereign Trust (SA) is delighted to welcome Howard, who has first-hand experience of relocating to Portugal having recently undertaken this move himself. He will present a short introduction on the options for Portuguese residency, which will be followed by a group Q&A session.

A leading venue for individuals, entrepreneurs, investors, retirees and their families seeking residence in the European Union, Portugal offers a stable political and social environment, clear and transparent tax rules, good infrastructure, a favourable investment climate and an excellent quality of life.

Portugal presents non-EU residents with an unrivalled range of residency schemes – including the ‘Golden Visa’, the D7 ‘retirement’ visa and the Highly Qualified Activity (HQA) Visa – to suit their different circumstances, skillsets and budgets.

One of the major benefits of Portuguese residency schemes is the opportunity to qualify for permanent residency or citizenship in an EU member state after five years. Portugal is a full member of the EU and residents enjoy visa-free travel throughout the EU under the Schengen arrangements.

It is essential that applicants choose the route to residency that best matches their lifestyle, resources and goals – and are aware of the qualifying criteria and the potential benefits and costs of each scheme. It is also essential to fully explore the tax and legal implications that residency in Portugal may trigger.

Sovereign has been operating in Portugal for over 30 years and whether you wish to live, work or retire in Portugal now, or are simply keeping your options open for the future, we are well-placed to offer all the practical advice you will require.

The Q&A session will be hosted at Sovereign Trust’s office at 7 West Quay Rd, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.

The proposed dates, depending on response, are as follows:

Tuesday, 15 February 2022 @ 10h00 – 11h30

Wednesday, 16 February 2022 @ 10h00 – 11h30

Thursday, 17 February 2022 @ 10h00 – 11h30

Could you please indicate your interest in attending by clicking on the link below to email us with your choice of date.

Numbers will be limited to six per session, so we would invite you to reserve your place at the very earliest opportunity.
