Sovereign Dubai Corporate Touch Rugby 6s
Last weekend Sovereign Corporate Services Dubai competed in and sponsored the 6th Annual Corporate Touch Rugby 6’s. The event featured teams from some of Dubai’s largest companies including the likes of Emirates, Zurich, Transguard and many others. Sovereign entered a team of employees into the Mixed Competition with hopes of silverware despite fielding a number of players that hadn’t touched a Rugby ball until a few weeks before the event. A draw and two narrow losses in the group stages saw ‘Sovereign Stormers’ finish 3rd out of 4 teams and advance into the knockout stages of the plate competition. The Sovereign team then faced a tough DP World team in the next game but came away with a last minute win to progress to the semi-final. Unfortunately the semi-final didn’t go as hoped and Sovereign came off second best after the 20 minute match. Despite the loss in the semis, Sovereign enjoyed a great day and opportunity to share some good sporting competition with clients and competitors alike.
