Hongkongers sign up for once-in-a-lifetime 320km/h hypercar challenge

Enthusiasts will get to drive a LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder, all in the space of an afternoon, on a racing car test track in Britain in the Hypercar Holy Trinity 200mph Challenge.

Hongkongers are among the car enthusiasts to have signed up for an opportunity Jeremy Clarkson never experienced on the TV show Top Gear: the chance to drive three of the world’s most exclusive, limited-edition sports cars in a single afternoon.

Corporate services provider The Sovereign Group has teamed up with British supercar club Auto Vivendi to offer its global clients the once-in-a-lifetime chance, in an event called “The Hypercar Holy Trinity 200mph Challenge”.

At a cost of about HK$84,000, they will get to push a Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder to the edge of their speed limits on a test track in Leicestershire, in the British Midlands.

Each model is tuned with cutting-edge electric/hybrid technology and has been produced in limited numbers, available to only the most ardent, wealthy car collectors.

Two Hong Kong clients of Sovereign Group are already on board for the driving experience, scheduled for June, and several others have expressed a keen interest, says group chairman Howard Bilton.
